Internet Safety Awareness

Empowering Our Community to Stay Safe Online

The internet is a powerful tool for learning, connection, and creativity—but it also comes with real risks. Morgan County Substance Abuse Council provides Internet Safety presentations that help youth, parents, educators, and community members recognize online dangers, protect personal information, and make safer decisions in digital spaces.

From cyberbullying and online predators to social media privacy, scams, and digital footprints, our program gives participants practical tools to navigate the online world with confidence.

Through awareness and education, we can help create a safer digital community for everyone.

Understanding Internet Safety

The internet is part of everyday life for young people, families, schools, and businesses. While it offers valuable ways to learn, communicate, and connect, it can also create risks when people are not prepared to recognize unsafe situations.

MCSAC’s Internet Safety Program provides practical, age-appropriate education that helps participants understand common online dangers and make informed decisions. By building awareness, we can help create safer online experiences for everyone in Morgan County.

Why Internet Safety Matters

Education is one of the strongest tools we have for preventing online harm. When people understand how to recognize risks, set healthy boundaries, and respond when something does not feel right, they are better prepared to protect themselves and those around them.

This program encourages participants to think before they click, communicate responsibly, and reach out to a trusted adult or resource when help is needed.
